MBV is now open to the public!
Mahogany Bay Village is a 60 – acre waterfront property that boasts 10 dining outlets, 205 villa-style rooms and a Bay and Beach club. They describe themselves as being inspired by the rustic charm of old Belize and combine that charm with new world luxury. At 11 a.m. this morning, the long awaited grand opening was realized. This day of celebration was commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The mistress of ceremonies, our very own Tanya McNab, addressed the crowd with glee as 4 years of planning, hard work and dedication have culminated successfully.
The event’s speakers included cabinet members Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr. (Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation) and Hon. Tracy Taegar Panton (Minister of State in the Ministry of Investment Trade and Commerce). The director of Brand Performance in Latin America and the Caribbean for Hilton, Mr. Juan Arboleda gave the key note address.
The grand opening of the resort marks the debut of the Curio Collection by Hilton Portfolio in Belize. Mr. Arboleda spoke of his excitement in Hilton’s arrival to Belize and noted that he believed the property will mean a high value for owners, and will have a positive impact in the local community.
After the aqua ribbon was ceremoniously cut with a pair of oversized scissors, Clifford began her closing remarks.
The Future looks bright!
“Great things in business are not done by one person but rather by a team of people”, she said. She compared the Mahogany Bay Village to a hive. A group of like-minded people with the same goal. Expressing her appreciation for those that helped build Mahogany Bay she remarked, “These are the people my heart is with every day.”
Furthermore, a project that began as a 50 page plan was fostered by the idea that a country could be partnered with to build the “next – next” travel destination in the world. Belize is that country, and only great things are expected in the years to come.
